When I got down to the glacial bench a few hundred meters above camp, I was relieved to finally be walking on stable ground again. Maintaining my elevation, I walked over to a point above our GPS base station. Kurt, Jeff, Twit, and Dave had landed there last year on a recce. As I walked, the sun came up over the Kukri Hills and bathed me in glorious golden light and warmth. Pictures couldn't quite capture it, like usual.
