Transantarctics
This is a view of the Transantarctic Mountains taken on one of my walks to the north of the station. The foreground is Ross Island, the middle ground is the McMurdo Ice Shelf (part of the Ross Ice Shelf), and the distant mountains are the Transantarctics. In the middle of the ice shelf you can see a thin horizontal line - this is the channel that the icebreaker has cut to allow the three resupply ships passsage to McMurdo station.
