We spent a few days in McMurdo packing things up and preparing for the trip back home. On the day of departure, we were bused out to the airfield. This is a Mat Track truck, one of many strange Antarctic vehicles. It is good for driving on snow because the increased footprint reduces the pressure on any given area. It is difficult to steer at low speeds, resulting in 7 points turns.
