I imagine most people don't take pictures of the garbage barge, but I thought it was interesting. The garbage workers load the trash bags into the gray carts you see parked on the land next to the boat. Then they wheel the carts to the barge which has a crane that picks them up. As the crane sets the cart down on the barge, the bottom drops out of the cart, dumping the garbage into the hold of the barge.
