A variety of iron oxidation states create the vibrant colors in this image. The rock is sandstone, with more of the trace fossil pillars seen earlier. Otherworldly. To get to this spot, which was a little off my normal route up and down the East Groin, I climbed down over some steep banks of loose pillar rollers. It never got sketchy, but I had to be careful. On the way down I passed a rock shaped like a sewing machine.
